there will be a second chance to get Itchy and Scratchy (sans weapons though) https://www.ociostock.com/the-simpsons-pack-6-figures-7cm-p-1-51-191969/ once again they gave Krusty this face:

as long as they're selecting characters from the first 8-9 seasons, I have no complaints. (though I'm not gonna stop anybody from wanting a Crazy Cat Lady figure)

I'm not saying you're wrong but a lot of establishment types have been wanting to bomb Iran for a while. unfortunately some of those establishment types are also Democrats :-/ there is a sizeable anti-war constituency though, that's the glimmer of hope that I'm gonna hold onto.

I dunno if there is as big a market for Simpsons figures as there are for, say, TMNT or Thundercats but maaaan I still feel Super7's line would be on like wave 9 by now if they hadn't messed up like they did.

    Jakks Pacific Simpsons

probably a sacrilegious thing to say but looking at the photos of these Samurai Jack figures, I wouldn't have minded if we had a Simpsons figure line that pulled back on the articulation in favor of interchangeable parts/more accessories. (granted this is closer to what Super7 had been doing)...

I am hoping that one day the US has an administration that is unafraid to hold Israel accountable.

hasn't been a lot on the Simpsons front lately. most recent news has been pictures of the Family Sedan for the 2.5in line. it will include the whole family, also the back of the box has pictures of the next wave of 2.5in figures: Daredevil Bart, Mr. Burns, Kearney, Carl, and Patty...

I was going to say "I also don't have any TMNT stuff" and while that's technically true for present-day me, when I was a small child I did have figures of Bebop and Rocksteady but only because the pig-man and rhino-man look must have appealed to me. (Mutant Mayhem was the first TMNT piece of...

    U.S. Politics

at the risk of coming off as a champion of stubborn partisanship, I'm not necessarily a fan of compromise for compromise's sake. it's a nice aesthetic, "both sides coming together", but I can think of plenty of stuff that both parties have agreed on that I am not a fan of. stuff that I'm sure...

I'm not saying any of this to put words in the Sergeant's mouth, it's more my personal feelings on the whole Trump ethos in general

    U.S. Politics

I don't believe I ever got an answer on this. my potentially bad-faith assumption of the appeal of America First, MAGA, Donald Trump as a person, etc. involves the idea of impunity, to have a government who act decisively and harshly against The Enemies of The American People or just the...

    U.S. Politics

by the by, I know that a public healthcare system will not solve the US's problems as if by magic. but the line of argument "I don't want to pay for other people's healthcare" is much different than one that defends the current system as more effective. and I usually assume the people who...

    U.S. Politics

it's a very poor-faith assumption to make but maybe having a system where people are excluded means the insured can take comfort in the thought that their care was 'deserved'. i.e. "at least we don't live in a country where our tax money is being used to pay for the unemployed's medical...

    Pokémon Figures

my nostalgic-self would love to collect the old Tomy figures but Jesus H. Christ do they go for a lot on the secondary market. if there is a collection that would allow me to easily assemble the original 151, I'd love to see it

    U.S. Politics

yeah. I should have said 'lost [the war with] Ukraine'. and yeah like you all are saying, I imagine most people wouldn't mind if we were spending money on Ukraine as long as we were also spending enough on 'our own'. BUT if we did that, it would be 'gov't hand-outs' and we'd have a gazillion...

    U.S. Politics

oh yeah, Putin ain't a good dude. I wouldn't be sorry if he lost Ukraine and all that. but overall I just don't know what Trump voters envision as an ideal society and I hate whenever my bad-faith assumptions get confirmed.

    U.S. Politics

it was a very cynical move for the Republicans to brand themselves as the anti-war party during the 2024 election but I lay some blame towards the Democrats for providing that opportunity. sorta related: something that often frustrates me is that I have heard or read...

    U.S. Politics

yeah it's not a good situation. I assume people in Ireland do not get beaten by the police, subject to anti-BDS laws, or deported for supporting Palestine which probably helps get people on board.

    U.S. Politics

sure why not I don't know how significant the protest vote against Kamala over Palestine decided the election, if only because I do not assume the average American is bothered by dead Arabs/Muslims in foreign countries. if appealing to the anti-genocide constituency was important enough to make...

Star Wars Movie and Streaming Series Discussion

seldom a day goes by where I don't wonder how RotJ (and maybe Star Wars as a whole) would have been different if Gary Kurtz had remained on board though that would probably mean no Ewoks so for starts I'd have a different name/profile picture

I'm assuming you don't think Palestine and the US's complicity in the actions of the Israeli government are an issue of real legitimacy. or at least that it is not an issue serious enough to affect voting behavior (in a scenario involving politicians unwilling to change their policy in the wake...
