    1/12 Diorama/Terrain/Props/Vehicles

Speaking my language. That feels like the kind of thing we might get from Fext eventually? I have some of their modular stairwell and Public Estate pieces. Skyscraper would be perfect for them.

    Mattel DC Figures

Like, it's impossible to read Dracula without understanding it's an implicit criticism of monarchy and the horrific things that someone with too much power and too little oversight will do, especially if they adopt a belief system makes exploiting and discarding other people part of their...

I can't believe I hadn't even considered that, but I could see them ending up there.

    Mattel DC Figures

I thought we all agreed to keep Kevin Smith doing podcasts and speaking tours. He's an interesting guy but he doesn't have the writing skills for a Swamp Thing comic.

    Jakks Pacific Simpsons

I'm hoping they'll still be around once the resets hit. I've heard a few people say that their Walmarts dismantling that mid-aisle display for collectibles, so it feels possible that there's going to be a lot of reshuffling to get a lot of that product back into the normal figure aisle...

    Mattel DC Figures

That's true, but I also have no idea what their budget is going to allow for even in a collector's line. This is a 100% new tooling figure. If it requires a deluxe format to do a really great Swamp Thing, I'm totally comfortable paying the premium.

    Mattel DC Figures

Swampy was one of those McFarlane figures I came so close to buying on a number of occasions, like Frankenstein, where it ultimately just didn't feel worth it despite how much I love the character. Reassuring to have that confirmed. I don't know what Mattel might be planning for more...

    JADA TOYS General Thread

I guess it makes sense in a Keep the Lights On kind of way. Quick turnaround on a short-term property where the toys don't need to have a wild standard of quality, and it's definitely increasing their presence in the figure aisle - I mean, a branded shipper and everything. And if the movie...

    Jakks Pacific Simpsons

Walmart near my parents has the Simpsons line on clearance now. Bad sign, obviously. The good news is that I managed to get a Lenny for $8. Update: Aaaaand my nearest Walmart put them on clearance too. Well, this sucks.

    Mattel DC Figures

I'm a big Swamp Thing stan and even I ended up eventually selling off my DCUC one. It was an interesting experiment, but I wish they had done one in a more traditional format as a build-a-figure. Hoping and expecting Mattel to try again this time around. My displays are pretty idiosyncratic and...

    Mattel DC Figures

Let's be fair to these old figures. Sometimes progress isn't linear or unbroken and the old figures have aspects that new ones lack. As proof, I submit to you that not since Kenner has a single Swamp Thing figure had a snare arm. If Mattel doesn't give Swamp Thing, and every other DC character...

    Hasbro x Street Fighter

This makes me wonder if they have access to the Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns likenesses for the line.

    Mattel DC Figures

I don't think DCUC ended because they finished their Super Powers tribute, but I'd agree that the extended Super Powers tribute was the biggest symptom of Scott's self-indulgence, which did tremendous damage to the line. I was still in college when DCUC started, and it's pretty wild that the...

    Mattel DC Figures

Oh, DCUC could be very self-indulgent but most of its lineups can't be accused of too much safety. I think they often went too far in the opposite direction, honestly. That line could have benefited from more A-list variants in a Marvel Legends kind of way; maybe it would have improved the...

    Mattel DC Figures

I've wanted a figure of her for so long. Given Todd's love of armored characters, I was hoping that she'd sneak into his line. Multiverse even had the Ystina version of Shining Knight before female characters were regularly being released!

I feel like this list could really benefit from Valda the Iron Maiden.

    Mattel DC Figures

I have to agree. For characters that are getting one shot in a line, I want the best version of that character achievable under the conditions of the line. I don't know how many D-listers we're getting, but even characters who are slightly above that, like perennial team members or recurring...

Wrestling Toys (Mattel WWE, Jazwares AEW, etc.)

Yeah, once I get over my Sol stan FOMO and look at it more objectively, she's almost definitely going to get an Elite. She's the best pure babyface in NXT, she's got a great look, she's progressing really quickly, and she'll almost definitely get over on Raw or Smackdown, so chances to get...

New preorders at Ringside. I got there 30 minutes after their email, and Sol Ruca was already sold out. Loving the Main Event figure distribution and case packouts! It's been good to me as both an NXT and women's roster fan.

Wrestling Toys (Mattel WWE, Jazwares AEW, etc.)

That's probably a big factor for why LJNs still work as an indie toy product, because the size and heft and brightness of the things make them feel valuable in a way that paying small-manufacturer prices isn't as tall a hurdle.

Mostly the latter, but I think one of the boutique companies has been doing figures in that style recently? FC Toys, I think?

Wrestling Toys (Mattel WWE, Jazwares AEW, etc.)

I think LJN style having kind of an ecosystem among boutique wrestling figure companies has been massive for the format. I'm not super interested in LJNs, they're before my time (although I have the old ring! Got it at a garage sale as a kid), but I get the appeal. I could see myself getting one...
