    General Marvel Legends

I seem to be doing a lot of that this year. The line has been going in a lot of directions that I’m simply not interested in, not only in terms of character choice, but in terms of how the figures are being packaged and sold.

    General Marvel Legends

There must be quite the chasm between the X-Men community that was polled and action figure collectors if Psylocke is No. 17 on that list.

Do You Still Actively Read Comics?

I think that’s what ultimately did me in along with rising prices, progressively darker overtones, and an ill fated trip to the garage with a stack of bagged and boarded comics that went sliding out of my hands and all over the floor. I remember that as being the final straw. 😂

    General Marvel Legends

I remember Mego being pretty much done by 1978. Most of the original Mego kids like myself had aged out and were no longer playing with toys, and the next group of kids entering their toy prime were all about Star Wars. I think I started collecting/reading X-Men every month in the 110’s...

Do You Still Actively Read Comics?

I’ve always wondered how many Marvel Legends collectors still actively read comics. By that, I mean that you still maintain a pull list at your local comic store or whatever the contemporary (digital) equivalent is. I haven’t had a pull list since 2002. I do maintain a Marvel Unlimited...

    General Marvel Legends

I still have a hard time seeing Carol Danvers as a top tier Marvel character. I’m not saying she isn’t. That’s just my perception. I think in my mind, I still keep the MCU and the comics separate. Carol Danvers is definitely top tier in the MCU, but has she ever sold comics? Maybe she...

    General Marvel Legends

Once you go past Wolverine, you almost have to have the complete blue and gold teams of the X-Men. At the very least, I think you need the lineup from the animated series. I also forget how big the Punisher was in the ‘90s. I was just playing the Punisher arcade game the other night on my...

    General Marvel Legends

It’s hard to believe now, but the X-Men were minor players at best in the Marvel Universe back in the early to mid 70s. True story. My father worked at a hospital in Houston. The gift shop had a newsstand shelf that included some comics. At least half a dozen copies of Giant Size X-Men No 1...

    General Marvel Legends

It was pretty straight forward back in the day. Mego came close: Spider-Man Captain America The Falcon Hulk Iron Man Thor The Fantastic Four Green Goblin The Lizard At that point in time, only Daredevil, Dr, Doom, and maybe the Red Skull belonged in that tier as well. The Lizard, probably...

    McFarlane DC Multiverse

Yes, it is. Not everyone can be online at a certain time on a certain day, and even though I usually can be, I often get busy at work and just forget. Buying toys shouldn’t be like buying concert tickets.

    McFarlane DC Multiverse

The one thing I can’t seem to get pest with the DC Multiverse line is McFarlane’s unwillingness to invest in blank bucks if they’re going to reuse them ad nauseam. I mean, I get it now that the license has reverted back to Mattel, but this started a few years ago. I thought Mirror Master...

    General Marvel Legends

Agreed. They absolutely nailed the original body and head sculpt, and the second head sculpt is a welcome addition. I will buy as many iterations of Jen (and Betty) using this base as they care to make.

SDCC Exclusive Savage Land 3 pack (Rogue, Sauron, Shanna)

After reading this, I realized that had these been single carded releases, my overall perception of the figures would have been much more positive. Sometimes it’s hard for me to separate the figures themselves from how they’re packaged and sold and how pleasant or unpleasant it was for me to...

    Fix a Figure

My biggest issue with Hellcat is the terrible yellow paint coverage on her lower legs. Ia contemporary female body molded in yellow with boots and gloves molded in blue and a new headsculpt would be great. I love the idea of an extra Greer Nelson head as well.

    X-Men '97

I think the Rouge/Gambit set would have been a much better choice as a SDCC exclusive than the Savage Land set. It’s something cool and different, but still fringe enough that anyone who wanted it could have probably gotten it without too much of a hassle when they went up on Pulse.

    General Marvel Legends

F4 She-Hulk is what I want from this line: Single carded/boxed figures at a standard price that can be preordered at my leisure. Once upon a time, that was the rule. This year, it feels more like the exception, She-Hulk is also a very good example that when done right, a straight up repaint...

SDCC Exclusive Savage Land 3 pack (Rogue, Sauron, Shanna)

I still haven’t received a shipping notice. I suppose that’s karma. 😉 I am sincerely happy that everyone seems to be enjoying them.

SDCC Exclusive Savage Land 3 pack (Rogue, Sauron, Shanna)

This is interesting, because I do consider the set to be mid, but I don’t disagree with Norm’s assessment of “above average to average”. Without having it in hand, I’d give the set a 7/10…which proves altcunningham’s point. I’m not like that in other aspects of my life, but after over 25...

SDCC Exclusive Savage Land 3 pack (Rogue, Sauron, Shanna)

That’s the punchline. All of this drama, and the figures themselves are kind of mid. If it wasn’t for the “This may be the only Shanna/Savage Land Rogue we get” FOMO, this set would probably still be in stock. If I knew for a fact that a single carded Shanna was coming somewhere down the...

SDCC Exclusive Savage Land 3 pack (Rogue, Sauron, Shanna)

I appreciate it, but I’m going to hold out for the set I ordered to ship…or not. Hopefully I’ll get a shipping order this week, but to be fair, they did say 8/20. I just want to be done with it at this point. This hasn’t been a particularly enjoyable year for action figure collecting.

SDCC Exclusive Savage Land 3 pack (Rogue, Sauron, Shanna)

My biggest mistake was not just getting a Shanna off eBay for under $80 shipped during SDCC weekend. She was on there throughout the weekend at $65 to $70 plus tax and shipping. I could have saved myself $15 and a LOT of aggravation. I’ll remember that in the future. Now watch. All of...

SDCC Exclusive Savage Land 3 pack (Rogue, Sauron, Shanna)

I wonder how you approach that situation if you’re Hasbro? I know those sets were intended for the European market, but they’ve been available for a week now which seems like an ample amount of time in this day and age of the hobby. Is there enough stock left to be worth re-allocating a...

SDCC Exclusive Savage Land 3 pack (Rogue, Sauron, Shanna)

My set is scheduled to ship on October 20, 2029. There’s a note underneath saying “Every time you trash us online, we’re pushing your ship date back a week.”

SDCC Exclusive Savage Land 3 pack (Rogue, Sauron, Shanna)

I really don’t associate Shanna with any particular look or outfit. Just give me a figure of a blonde with a full head of hair, jungle style clothing, a knife and/or spear, call her Shanna, and I’m good.

SDCC Exclusive Savage Land 3 pack (Rogue, Sauron, Shanna)

They probably don’t have as big of a scalper/attitude problem over there as we do here.
