Four Horsemen Studios Mythic Legions

I really like this one. Not going to be heartbroken if I can't get the Magnus head cos the other two are just fine, but wouldn't mind having all three options to pop onto other bodies later.
 
Really wish Treadway would sit his ass down and sculpt like twenty new human heads and save them for just these occasions.

this will be the FOURTH reuse of Magnus and Attlus… I mean good on them for keeping parts in rotation for customizers, I’d just like some variety.

But also, this figure rules, I might even try to get the exclusive version off the secondary market because a trio of Celtic hunks ain’t a bad thing to army build. They’d pair nicely with Jjuno, and I think I like this Attlus better than actual Attlus (in fact forget what I said earlier about this being the fourth Attlus on my shelf, I might just put the extra head on Attlus 2.0 and he’s a redhead now)
 
Yeah I wish they’d stop with the bonus parts - especially ones that lend themselves to army building- in the con exclusive versions. All three heads look great one this. Got to hand it to them, they know how to get people excited on a bunch of reuse and a bit of new soft goods.

You guys are onto something with the release windows. I wouldn't ordinarily have any interest in this figure, but the fact that I can get it soon makes a massive difference. I'm at least considering it.

It's not that I'm impulsive, but a lot can change over the course of the two-plus years between pre-order and release for standard ML waves. They need to figure it out.

This is the one thing that bugs me about it. Or if they have the bonus parts, make extra bodies easier to get. Like I don't need nine heads on three bodies, but I would absolutely pick up one of this guy and two other generic figures I could pop the other heads onto.
 
Goes to show how much a repaint can change things up. Would look silly painted as Father Christmas but looks pretty good with the darker hair. I think I would have chosen that one as the con-exclusive head as it’s the weakest of the three, IMO.

Quite a business has popped up for customizers and casters who CAN create new heads for these bodies. Sucks you'd have to pay more to get what you should have gotten in the first place, but there are options.

Oh, I’m very much aware, in fact it’s a bit disingenuous of me to be complaining about this being the fourth Attlus since like I said, red head just going on actual Attlus and my Addamon has been rockin’ May Shelf’s custom He-Man sculpt for years, and I got a whole bin of other eBay’ed casts I need to get around to finish painting… (poor Marley, I’m so lazy he’s never gonna be a proper ghost pirate…)

I just wish instead of using the same heads over and over they invested in a couple new sculpts… but again, I don’t mind them reusing so they’re easier to get for customizers either and some of my favorite heads are exclusive repaints (Red Magnus, Blue Attlia,”Asian” Attlus, and four different Tharices!!!) … so you know what, maybe I don’t have answers and this is all fine
 
Not the worst thing they're put out, but not what I'm after. I'm surprised that as much as you guys like kilt's no one's bemoaning his obvious lack of kilt for being a "Highlander." It looks decent enough for what it is, but I'd still rather have historical pirates than more kitbash figures. That reused Santa head I'll never be able to see as anything other than St. Nick. It looks entirely too docile.
 
I'm just getting started in Mythic Legions. I enjoy the figures I have, but I'm put off by the made-to-order business model, and the complete lack of availability of anything other than the most recent waves at non-scalper prices. I've been burned too many times on preorders in the past, so I'm not tying up money for 2 to 4 years when there are plenty of other things I can buy whenever I want to. They're neat toys, but they are probably not worth the MSRP, so I'll stick with clearance offerings or that rare "must have" holiday purchase.


P.S. I hope the dragon puts every scalper in the toy hobby out of business.
