NECA 2012 Turtles

My NECA mystery package has begun moving. It could conceivably be here Saturday. Gonna be real let down if it's like a dupe of a months-old order or something!
 
My second set of 2012 Turts are on their way from Wally.

Have not shipped from NECA direct, however...
 
Well this is a new one for me, Walmart* just sent me the wrong FedEX tracking number, says shipped today, but then links to a tracking information for a package shipped earlier this month complete with photo of the older delivery on a stranger’s door step from two weeks before I even ordered the Turts. Don’t even know how to handle this one because FedEx’s website just directs to “did you receive the wrong package or was your package sent to the wrong place?” so I guess no way to fix this in advance, guess I just gotta see how it shakes out when the package gets her (Walmart says Wednesday) and fix it in the end!

*I say “Walmart” but it’s being sent from NECA’s fulfillment center so they could have sent Walmart the wrong order number… oh well gonna be fun!

I also have two mystery FedEx numbers that shipped from NECA but shipped on Tuesday and should be here on Saturday so it’ll be fun to see of one of those are actually my Turts!

They are. Same thing happened to me. Walmart has the wrong numbers for whatever reason. Mine SHOULD be here tomorrow.

Walmart isn't the issue here, it is NECA. It has happened multiple times with orders from both Target and Walmart that ship direct from NECA. One time in particular I recall was with the GITD Muckman during a Haulathon.

My 2012 Walmart order links to Fedex for what is clearly a UPS tracking number, and neither site recognizes it. So, I have no idea when/if they are coming.

So this snarky dickhead definitely reads this forum, right?

I mean, I don't think it's an unreasonable reaction to find it silly not receive something first when ordering direct from the source.

But this rarely if ever funny douchecanoe loves to hyperbolically mock other collectors, then throw out "it's just joshin', guys" like he didn't just insult people directly. Again, never have I even chuckled at him once. Never understood why Jay put this horseshit on his site.

Eh, I guess. I tend to consider most of what's out there in terms of action figure "news" coverage to be white noise. Clearly ToyFarce is satire, but there's a self awareness there that some people still don't have. I feel like it's directed at people who've been collecting for like a year, which is how pretty much anyone on Reddit comes across to me. I don't put much value into it.
 
He might be a lurker, but I saw similar thumbnails on YouTube and I assume the Facebook Party Wagon group is full of griping so could be coincidence. I’m guessing there’s no shortage of whining on Reddit as well.
 
Walmart/NECA split my order up for some reason, so I just got Leo and Raph today and wowee, wow, wow, y'all.

These do not feel like normal NECA figures. They almost handle like something an overseas company would have made. If that makes sense.

The paints, the sculpts, the smoothness of the articulation, the quality of the plastic. Everything about them is just top notch.

The only negative is yes, pointing out again and especially having it in hand, Raphael's coloring is WAY off. Far too emerald green.

Seems like the article hit a nerve...

Internet's full of whiners, and none moreso than the toy community. At least the ones on Twitter sure are. I get them being upset, they want their stuff, but they go overboard real fast.
 
NECA package is in my city, hopefully here tomorrow. Less and less inclined to think it's gonna be these though. I have exactly two outstanding pre-orders: 1) These and Shredder, 2) Archie April as Turtle/Body Count Casey/Mirage Karai. THey say nothing ships until the entire order is in stock, but I haven't seen anyone anywhere claiming to have received any of these direct from NECA yet, or even really making the kinds of noises I'm making. At this point I'm expecting them to ship me another Toony Terrors Universal Monsters order to duplicate the one I got like a month and a half ago. Bracing myself for a letdown...
