Same! Vampire Hunter D is the OVA that got me into anime in the late 80s. My mind was blown as a teenager who thought animation wasn't cool anymore. The only bummer is that I presume we won't be getting a Count Lee, Doris, Larmica or Rei to go along with him.

I'm in the minority here, but I'd say you're not missing anything- watch the original, superior Korean film "Internal Affairs" instead. Since we're doing hot takes, I think Scorsese is insufferable and overrated. I know he's good, but he's not FilmGod IMO.

I would be down for an Erik Josten Power Man, but I don't know this version, and I'm not a fan of those design elements, so I'd be a pass.
