NECA - General Thread

Don't know if anyone cares, but again I do enjoy tracking these kinds of things. The 2018 Michael Myers hitting shelves, with a code ending in "25" above the UPC has been updated to include the ball jointed hips. Finally.

Just too bad it wasn't sooner so figures reusing this body could've had them.
 
Saw a bunch of figures at Walmart with $24.99 factory stickers. They had the AWL Nazis, Aliens, Gremlins and a couple others I don't remember.
 
Ross continues to get more and more NECA figures. I saw a bunch of new stuff today there. They tend to price between $16.99 and $19.99. There were Turtles, Horror, Gargoyle, various movie figs. I was actually quite impressed. Stuff that I personally had never seen at retail before.
 
I've heard some Ross stores have had The Thing dog alien. I haven't seen it at any of the stores near me, but if the price was reasonable I'd snag it. That set was expensive, so I never picked it up.

If I spotted that set for even $20, I'd snag it and be happy just keeping the dog and giving the rest away.
 
Wish this meant they were actually gonna be going back to The Thing, but in reality they're probably just trying to clear out unsold stock from when it was an SDCC exclusive.

I...don't think that's how that works though. That would mean they open up all the old figures and repackage them. And that's not cost effective for any company.
 
Still think it's a cool idea for a figure, I just don't know how effective it is at being, you know, a figure. It's clearly meant to work best in the box, though it luckily doesn't look too bad loose. Maybe they're testing the waters to gauge interest in more Thing figures? Or, like others said, just looking for a way to get more money out of an older mold. Lots of unhappy collectors in the comments complaining about exclusivity.

Yeah, the figure appears to be the same (maybe minor paint differences on the snow on the legs), but the packaging is different. Soooo, the people complaining about exclusivity are being dumb, cause the SDCC figure is still unique, if you kept it MIB.

I bought it and opened mine, so I'm not bothered one way or the other. I understand them appropriating it into the poster series.
 
I dont mind them putting it out again either. I've got the old one and opened it. Just trying not to get my hopes up that they're gonna go back to the line.
 
The NECA Store shitshow continues.

Ordered two of the Ultimate Art the Clown figures along with the newest Toony Terror wave with The Grabber and Babyface Killer.

After watching several other stores get NECA product in, I finally get my package today. Haphazardly thrown into the box, with one piece of tape holding it sort of shut.

Mind you, no ship notification, no email, nothing from NECA. Just USPS Informed Delivery letting me know.

Open it up. Aside from The Grabber box being opened, plastic hanging off of the cardback...

These fuckers send me an Art Head Knocker, valued at half of what I was supposed to get. The shipping slip even shows Head Knocker. My actual order online shows Ultimate figure x2.

I am really starting to fucking hate them.
 
Ben Cooper wave 13 looks good. I absolutely love the colors on Ghost Face, and as expected Jason is the new version. I do like the play blood machete though. That's a clever inclusion.

I also noticed they have black and white Ardeth Bay and Metaluna Mutant coming, or at least shown on the latest Checklist. I'm kind of shocked they're doing Ardeth considering how the figure sat, but good on them for going for it. However, there's no black and white Invisible Man? Still? Not even the robed version? Hopefully that happens.
 
Eh, I don't like that Misfits kid. I would have preferred classic artwork on the bib and not whatever that is.
