And it remains to be seen if the Darnold we saw last January is 'high stakes' Darnold. Because he was great for most of the regular season and then evaporated when it mattered. ...... If he dims when the lights shine brightest its a problem.
He didn't step up today to be sure, I think it is safe to say without those 4 INTs the Seahawks likely win the game.

Brutal Seahawks loss. Maybe I'm becoming a Seattle homer, but the game actually made me feel better about the Seahawks and worse against the Rams. If they meet again in January, I'll pick Seattle. Even Sam Darnold can't have another four-interception game, right?

I don't know. He was pretty brutal down the stretch last year after looking like a new man all season. I definitely can't trust him until he proves it on a bigger stage.

It is disconcerting as a Seahawks fan. We know he can play great, but I remember watching the playoff game last year and was surprised how off he seemed (and thought it was really going to hurt his market). I am not down on him yet as every player has poor performances, but it doesn't help feel confident he can take the team far.

He seems to be the sort that loses his confidence sometimes. He got really tentative down the stretch, bad timing, leading to poor accuracy. I thought O'Connell's offense was propping him up last year, but the fact that he has had as much success as he has this year with Seattle at least proves he can be successful without a master quarterback whisperer in his ear. Hopefully for him, it was just a bad game. And a lot of good quarterbacks had bad days yesterday.

They were playing for the 1 seed last year and got annihilated 31-9. They went in to the playoffs heavily favored against the Rams and got annihilated. And Darnold didn't play well in either of those 'must win' games. If he dims when the lights shine brightest its a problem.
You're talking about when he was with the Vikings last year? Because great for most of the regular season then evaporating when it matters describes the team as a whole.

That is what I was saying... and right on queue he threw four interceptions in that game. Sam Darnold isn't good when the stakes are high, and thats my position until he shows otherwise. Lucky for him he gets the Titans thos week so he'll look like a million bucks again.

The Bears are so fraudulent.

Turns out, JJ McCarthy is exactly who I thought he was in college.

KC and Detroit were shaky today.

The Patriots’ 10 game win streak came crashing down today. Up 21-0 and 24-7 at halftime with a chance to win the division, the team just plain blew it against Buffalo. The defense couldn’t get off the field in the 2nd half and the receivers just seemed to struggle to get much separation. That probably takes them out of contention for the 1 seed and they need to beat the Jets and Dolphins to win the division. Next week’s game at Baltimore almost doesn’t matter.

Elsewhere, the Chiefs are officially out of the playoffs and it looks like Mahomes may have seriously injured his knee. At best, he’s almost certainly done for the year.

Torn ACL. Good chance he could be ready for the start of next season if he has surgery soon.

Seahawks v Rams on Thursday is a huge game. Too bad it is behind the Amazon paywall...

Parsons went down with a knee too. That’s a huge blow for Green Bay if it’s as bad as it looked, for this year and probably at least some of next.

I was on Twitch last Thursday and saw the TNF game streaming there. Not sure if that's a regular thing, but I'm going to try to watch Seattle/LAR that way.

Huge football day. KC eliminated, Mahomes & Parsons tore ACLs, and Buffalo, Seattle, LAR, and Denver snuck by in big games.

It's still wide open this year, but I'd be relatively surprised if one of LAR, Seattle, Buffalo, Denver, or New England didn't win the Super Bowl. Houston and Philly are in the mix, too. I think the Lions may have missed their window.
