I can't believe that we don't actually have a thread already for just Spawn product.

How fucking pissed off are all the original Spawn Kickstarter backers when this new 'Elite Edition' Spawn is -basically- the exact figure everyone in the KS was asking Todd to make.

I tend to be a stickler for detail, so I prefer the KS masked head. The cape is a trade off depending upon which you prefer. I was only ever going to buy one Spawn, so I'm happy with the Kickstarter one. Surrounded by the Tamashii green flames it looks like he's come right out of a portal, so I'm satisfied with that.

I would like a much better Haunt than the one we got.

Personally, I'm not unhappy with my KS Spawn, although I still hate the pre-posed torso bullshit he did seemingly just to make it an articulated figure that's almost worthless to bother articulating. It looks really nice on display and evokes the original figure in a way I do like.

But I have to be honest.. if this figure was 20 bucks or whatever at GameStop when the KS was happening, there's no way I would have gone in on the KS.

I cobbled together a Spawn with big boot and "leather" cape from the Spawn throne figure. but if this one isn't outrageous, I might consider it to get a more 'classic' look.

I was pissed at the KS Spawn for not being this.

Stupid permanent contrapasto pose you couldn't even articulate. Sold both and have no regrets.

The Elite price will suck on this and the other Image figures, but I'll do it.

I thought I saw this had a swappable boot, but it was just poor slide layout at the con.

I'm also not unhappy with my Medieval KS because he's dope and the barbarian or whatever one with the horse they put out was not dope.

I like my Medieval Spawn KS figure a fair bit. But I have to be honest; when it comes down to it, I really do find that I prefer simplistic design over ridiculous levels of detailing. I think the actual original comic/toy Medieval Spawn design is -better- than the KS ridiculous overdesign and I'd be -happier- with a legitimate update of that early '90s toy over what we actually got.

I'd also like a more classic Medieval Spawn, but I'm fine skipping this one and holding on to the KS ones I have. I even enjoyed the experience of the campaign for the first round. Todd's videos were fun for a bit.

Now bring on Savage Dragon!

I would love a classic Medieval Spawn.

And since the line is giving us Witchblade, we need the Medieval Witchblade for him.

We need an actual Witchblade, not this new white body condom covered in sharp coral look. Fine if some folks want it, but not at the exclusion of an OG Pezzini.
I love that run, so I'm a folk that's happy with it if that's the design. That run is so violent and sexual it makes the original Eek! The Cat in comparison. Sara in any form is the actual witchblade to me because I didn't like her successor. So I'm going to take this win.

But we do need OG Sara. And 2006 Sara when she just had the jacket.

Every other design on the slide is so 1992 I can taste the Squeezit, so I don't know if that picture even tells us what we're really getting.

I’m just relieved that the greatest of all action figure accessories, nail-in-a-board, is coming back.
🫠
I have a lot of nostalgia for that board. What's the price on this? It is the first Spawn figure in forever I'm even considering. And purely nostalgia related, I haven't read Spawn since... the late 90's probably?

Whoa, an Eek! The Cat reference in the wild! You almost never see those.

I feel like it makes me sound like a bit of a philistine, but I'm curious what a truly R-Rated Witchbade with more overt sex and violence would be like. That's one of those comics, sort of like Spawn, where I recall it fondly but I am terrified of actually returning to it to see how the old ones were or how the new ones are.

I can't speak for anyone else, but the newer Witchblade comics, and most of the new Spawn comics, bore me to fuckin' tears.

I fear I'd agree. In my head there's a version that would be awesome, but I've learned my lesson when it comes to expecting good urban horror/fantasy offerings.
