Action Force and Valaverse

The Technodrome is the same way. Talk about a forum chock full of antisocial, gatekeeping weirdos. Just so, SO unwelcoming and aggressive and needlessly insulting to anyone that isn't a part of their "club". Heaven forbid you don't fit their criteria of what constitutes a TMNT fan, or dare to ask a question that you should apparently know the answer to. They suck.

Yeah, like I said Vala’s an asshole, but a lot of the action force discussion/fighting in the Joe fandom is just kind of proxy battle in
a fandom civil war.

Classified brought a lot of new life into the fandom, but it changed who is in the fandom, where the fandom exists, and who are the gatekeepers in the fandom.

Thats why I buy them from BBTS and I won't get them from the Vala site. At the point I buy them, BBTS already paid him. I'm just supporting them. If BBTS stops carrying them, I'd stop buying them.

I've never had a Valaverse figure, and the only thing I EVER plan on getting is the supposed Splinter Cell figures they claimed they're putting out. Because Splinter Cell. Otherwise, I will never support that douchecanoe.

I hear ya but tough to buy anything that doesn't put money in some asshole's pocket. Who is successful under capitalism who isn't also an asshole? Principled commerce is rough when the system selects for and promotes amoral psychopathy and then amplifies it in those selected.

Yikes! Just out of curiosity and 5 minutes of free time I clicked on this thread. I expected to see maybe some pics or info on their latest figures but wow. . . I had no idea. Glad I only bought two of their figures waaaay back just to check out the line. Also due to lack on time I have never really spent time on the Hisstsnk or Technodrome forums. I chose to spend it at the Freaks (for 1/6 stuff), the Fwoosh (although not much anymore) and now here (soooo happy I was told about this place). Looks like I made the right choice.

I would say this is an unusual case.

Kenny was crossing the line and actively taking steps to try and hurt his business. It wasn’t just memes. It was attempts to get him banned from conventions and stuff (drunken altercations).

Vala’s an asshole and I don’t think you should sue people that make memes, but Kenny and his pals crossed into that territory where it was a bit reasonable

Yeah I only lurk on hisstank, and not even under this nickname. It’s fucking gross over there, but there have been times when they were my best conduit to Joe toy news.

Absolutely no offense here, and clearly you're not the only one that thinks this; but I think this is a massive cop-out. Toy collectors certainly CAN make these decisions. They just opt not to. And they intentionally over-complicate the issue to make it more palatable to themselves and others to just not make those decisions. Because they want toys. That's all it is.

Just like Harry Potter people tripped over their own trans friends to justify buying the latest HP merch by saying 'yeah, but everyone in Capitalism is bad.' It's a shitty excuse. Every time it's used. And it's not expressly true, in the way it's being used, either.

But go on. I don't have the authority to -stop- anybody from propping up Vala's bullshit. Please continue -proving- the argument that Capitalism only rewards cunts by giving your money to a cunt.
 
Sounds like Kenny was having a little too much fun in the toy community. The HISStank is such a funny contrast to here, where the most heated it gets is like a "zombies vs ninjas" argument in the Classified thread where we all make up and agree they should "make everything".

I don't know. Maybe Bobby is a jerk for this. Damien is right but I'm not going to sit here and say Bobby's worse for this than Hasbro is just for being Hasbro. Or Mattel doing Mattel things. Both get new top guys every few years who lay off entire departments just to temporarily bump stocks by a few percentage and then find higher-paying jobs. Bobby may be petty and egotistical, most of these big brands we talk about on here are much more soulless and evil just IMO.
