McFarlane DC Multiverse

I saw a full video review and a few shorts of Dr. Midnite in hand and cancelled my preorder with BBTS. I realize I may be contradicting my earlier post about needing to have the figures in hand before passing final judgment, but the top of the belt not being painted is a one of my personal dealbreakers. The way the cape is attached looks pretty janky to me as well.

I’m not going to buy any more figures that I’m not happy with simply because I love the characters. Right now, I have Red Tornado, Stephanie Brown Batgirl, Sandman, and Mirror Master on my nightstand, and they look great together. At this point, I’d rather just have a random collection of figures that I like as opposed to trying to complete displays or teams with figures that I don’t like.

FYI that the Dr. Mid-Nite chase figure is in stock at BBTS for $39.99:

They're sold out on the regular version (despite @Xavion2025's cancellation above) but didn't do pre-orders for the Chase which they like to list separately upon arrival.

Go figure, I just shipped my Pile of Loot when Atom Smasher and Spectre hit earlier in the day so this will likely sit in my new PoL for almost 90 days.

Just looked at that cleaned up version of the leaked list. It now appears that Jack Knight is no longer a Red Platinum. Good news for one of my personal favorites.

I grabbed the Earth 2 Society Batman at GameStop today. I have the rest of that Wave coming from BBTS, but I had not pre ordered this particular figure thinking I didn't want it. But seeing it in person, it looks awesome. It kind of reminds me of the old Kenner Batman toys from the Dark Knight Collection, where they just kept releasing Batman but in different colors. This figure is just a fun gold and black attire for Batman.

A fun crazy alternate suit.

That leaked list bums me out a little. No new Batman villains. Plenty of Batman's or Bat characters that have already had figures. But no new, first-time villains. I hope Todd doesn't get stingy with the Bat Villains in this final year next year.

I have a few DC Multiverse figs sitting in my POL now: Deathstroke, Peacemaker, Scarecrow, and PP Joker, as well as four non-Multiverse figures. There are two o-ring GI Joes that are slated for October, but I really want to have Scarecrow by Halloween.......I think I just need to pull the trigger now.

I ordered the Earth 2 Society Batman from MTS. Haven’t gotten a shipping notification yet. Earth 2 was probably my favorite New 52 title. At least when Robinson was writing it. My hope is for more Earth 2 figures before Todd closes out, but most of you hate it when Todd does go into the actual Multiverse despite the name of the line.

Flash, a proper Val Zod, Hawkwoman, Fury, and Dr. Fate would be my picks. Amongst others.

The SS Harley Drawing Board fundraiser is 91% there with 5 days left to go. Definitely slowed down a lot in the last couple weeks- hovered at around 80-something percent for a while. McFarlane Toys actually made a post about it the other day, which helped drive the numbers up a bit. I think each tier being priced lower, and therefore needing more backers to meet the goal, is what's keeping it dragging out. Still, I'm hopeful. It's certainly doable, but it'll probably come down to the wire. If anyone's been debating it, now's the time!

Just did mine. Waiting for the site to recognize that the city I live in is a real place took way too long.

BTW, I noticed that the production stamp on Page Punchers Joker was 081425 - I bought it on 101425. Normally it's three months but two months is a crazy short turnaround.

Thanks for the review, Smalls! Though now you've made me want that set (or at least that Penguin) even more. Nice to see it isn't as comically large as I feared it might've been, and really nice to see that they did spring for flippers over hands.

I dont think it'll have any problem, these things always surge in the last couple of days. At this moment of writing, it's at 92.96%.
