I've only gotten the platinum version once or twice on a buy like that, but on the off chance I hit #3, I suppose I could always trade him.
I got clobbered with Green suit/in transition Sinestro, which is when I learned to order 2-3 of anything I really want from Todd. Thankfully it was an actual Platinum that grew on me and I kept. Whereas I got stuck with 7 normal Silver Age Two-Face's in an effort to get the black and white suited Platinum version which I had to get from Ebay anyway!

You're also assuming I plan to follow into that line and rebuy numerous DC characters when I already own the McFarlane versions. I've already said on multiple occasions that I don't plan to. So for me personally, when Todd's done I'm largely out of the majority of DC stuff unless it's some sort of epic import figure.
Mattel will almost certainly have their own issues, but I'll certainly be happy to be off this McFarlane train. I wish that they had never gotten the license to begin with, and that's coming from someone who has still bought at least one version of every character that they've made because I just love the IP so much.
